NAEMT was founded in 1975 with support from the National Registry of EMTs and numerous leaders in emergency medicine. NAEMT began its mission of educating EMS practitioners in the late 1980s with the introduction of PreHospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS). In 1999, the national rollout of the Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS) education program took place, followed by the rollout of Pediatric Prehospital Care (PPC) in 2001. PPC was reintroduced as Emergency Pediatric Care (EPC) in 2007. NAEMT now offers a variety of EMS courses that encourages best practices in mental health, occupational safety, tactical medicine, and many other domains. In addition to certification maintence through CME, NAEMT is a powerhouse supporter of pro-EMS legislation and professional advocacy. Today, NAEMT is the largest professional association for EMS practitioners in the United States.

Modeled after the Committee for Tactical Combat Casualty Care (CoTCCC), C-TECC is comprised of a broad range of interagency operational and academic leaders in the practice of high threat medicine and fire/rescue from across the nation, including members from emergency medicine, emergency medical services, police, fire, and the military special operations community. It is the responsibility of C-TECC to maintain and update the TECC guidelines, incorporating new information and technology and reflecting the best evidenced-based medicine principles. C-TECC remains an independent civilian entity but maintains a close relationship with CoTCCC for guidance and support. SMR is an approved educational partner of C-TECC and offers tactical medicine courses that align with TECC core standards as recognized educational content.

The mission of the Stop the Bleed Coalition is to support the STOP THE BLEED® campaign by providing resources that enable collaboration and cooperation between the many people and organizations working to train and equip the nation to reduce the loss of life due to traumatic bleeding. The Coalition is licensed by the US Department of Defense to support the STOP THE BLEED® campaign. The Coalition offers a wide variety of DoD approved services and products to the growing STOP THE BLEED® community and to the general public. SMR proudly offers the STB program as an educational licensee. Inquire about our free courses for public schools.
For clarification, there are two distinct organizations furthering the STB mision of the American College of Surgeons. Stopthebleed.org is directly administered by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma. Stop The Bleed Coalition is a public/private partnership led by the Department of Defense and many other stakeholders.
Along with maintaining an STB Educational License, SMR staff includes a mix of STB instructors and ambassadors of both organizations.
