Our proprietary tactical medicine course focuses on basic TECC principles as published in the most current C-TECC guidelines. Emphasis is placed on managing trauma in the civilian tactical or hazardous environment. While this course incorporates basic tactical principles, it focuses on providing care outside the normal operating conditions of most EMS agencies.
Core content includes but is not limited to:
- Hemorrhage control including immediate action drills for tourniquet application
- Comprehensive instruction on the MARCH algorithm assessment
- Nasopharyngeal airway control
- Penetrating chest trauma management
- Strategies for treating wounded responders in high threat environments
- Considerations for injured pediatric patients
- Best practices for lifting, dragging, and carrying victims to safety
- Active shooter/mass casualty scenarios
- Intro to TEMS/Rescue Task Force operations
This course is highly customizable. We offer 3 distinct tracts:
- Basic HECC-Civillian
- Basic HECC-Law Enforcement
- Advanced HECC-LE
HECC-Advanced incorporates live-fire drills and is intended for those familiar with firearms. This course is offered in conjunction with 9&1 Tactical of Minden, LA.
