6-8 hour course
The HSI Basic Life Support (BLS) program is for participants to gain or improve knowledge and skill proficiency in high-quality CPR skills and teamwork for the adult, child, and infant.
HSI BLS reflects the latest resuscitation science and treatment recommendations published by the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR), and it conforms with the 2020 American Heart Association (AHA) Guidelines Update for CPR and ECC and the annual Guidelines Update. Continuing Education Hours Available: Emergency Medical Services (CAPCE) and Dental Professionals (AGD/PACE).
ADVANCED FIRST AID
17 hour course
The ASHI Advanced First Aid course is designed for the person who needs or desires more first aid training than basic first aid but not to the level of Emergency Medical Response. Perfect for corporate emergency response teams, this 17-21 hour Advanced First Aid certification course presents many of the most common illnesses and injuries responders are likely to encounter.
STOP LIFE-THREATENING BLEEDING
1-2 hours
According to the CDC, traumatic injury is one of the leading causes of death for people under 50 years of age in the United States. A large portion of those deaths are from severe bleeding – the most treatable cause of death due to trauma.
The HSI Stop Life-Threatening Bleeding program is a completely revised and updated training program, integrating the latest and new Stop Life-Threatening Bleeding procedure.
This program uses a step-by-step procedure and skill guide to provide guidance for assessing, prioritizing, and stopping life-threatening bleeding based on scientific evidence, national guidelines, and the consensus of experts. HSI Stop Life-Threatening Bleeding is an excellent supplement to the CPR and First Aid programs.

advanced cardiac LIFE SUPPORT (AcLS)
7-15 hour course
The Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) program is a scenario (case-based) continuing education course intended for trained and skilled healthcare providers who either direct or participate in cardiopulmonary emergencies and resuscitation efforts. This ACLS certification course is designed to provide students with an opportunity to enhance and refine knowledge and hands-on skill proficiency in emergency cardiovascular care. The ACLS training program has been updated to accompany the ACLS Study Guide, 6th Edition and the ACLS eBook Study Guide, 6th Edition, published by Elsevier.
All individuals who participate in an ACLS class must be previously trained, skilled, and be able to:
- Perform high-quality basic life support (BLS)
- Read and interpret basic electrocardiograms (ECG)
- Understand cardiovascular pharmacology, prepare and administer essential cardiovascular medications
EMS professional may claim CAPCE-approved continuing education (CE) hours upon completion of the HSI ACLS course.
EMERGENCY MEDICAL RESPONSE (EMR)
50 hour course / 16 hour renewal
The HSI Emergency Medical Response for Non-EMS Personnel training program provides a detailed and comprehensive approach for managing out-of-hospital medical emergencies prior to the arrival of EMS.
The program is designed to provide non-EMS responders more depth and exposure to standard first aid training topics to provide richer and more advanced training. It meets and exceeds workplace first aid training requirements and satisfies the desire to learn more than just basic first aid without the burden associated with EMS provider training and certification.
HSI EMR for Non-EMS Personnel provides comparable training to that of Emergency Medical Responder, the base-level training for EMS providers, although the program is not intended for training EMS providers.
